To begin, type 'quest undertake 3391'. This will grant a recipe index card with three beginner recipes on it. Select one, then you'll be granted the Mark of Cooking and proceed to begin the cooking process. Take a look at the now updated recipe index card and your new recipe quest to discover what to do.
Keep in mind that you will need to hold the index card in order to cook your recipe, because you haven't "mastered" cooking that recipe yet. In order to attain mastery in a given recipe, you must cook the food, then have another player eat it. You'll have a random chance to gain a mark when another player eats food you've cooked. Once you have that mark, you will no longer need your index card to cook that one recipe. Your index card will update to a random recipe that you have yet to master once you use it. So hunt down the ingredients, locate the appropriate cooking facilities / cookware / instructor / etc., cook your food and feed as many people as necessary.
Races with a food avoidance have a reduced chance of granting the mark when consuming food they don't like.
