This quest [3420] is called 'What Happened to Elfenlarn', for Adventurers levels 241 to 241. This is a META ARCHON CLASS quest. Complete all of the ARCHON CLASS PHASES to achieve your Archon Class. The elderly mountain elf caretaker is the mistress in charge of this quest. The hermit chronomancer Elfenlarn is no longer hiding in time, but actually missing. His longstanding mission was to find a way through time, far enough back to potentially avert the atrocities which fractured the elven kingdoms. In our linear past, he has left us notes from the different periods he has visited as he managed to stretch his powers back further and further through time. Our previous communiques involved him leaving notes in the margins of progressively older books that he knew would eventually make their way into the Library of Xaventry. The last one found is from the 1180s, saying he had made contact with another chronomancer in that era, who could help him jump back another 50 years. That is a longer span than he had ever attempted before, and we have never found another note from him older than that- potentially indicating he failed. It is perhaps interesting to consider 'missing' someone who has not been seen in centuries, but I request that you attempt to pick up the trail. As I assume you are not a chonomancer able to go back to the time and place he was when he wrote that note, please start your own investigations into the elven genocide, and all who conspired to commit it. The trail will have been cold for many generations, but see what you can find- and you may just find enough traces of Elfenlarn to learn a bit of chronomancy along the way. Upon successful completion of this quest you can receive: *Up to 0 quest points, 0 practice points, 0 archon points, 0 build points, 0 piety, 1 alignment, and 0 gold pieces. *The Mark of Chronomancy! This quest [3421] is called 'The Purge of the Mountain Elves', for Adventurers levels 241 to 241. This is a ARCHON CLASS PHASE quest. Complete all of them sequentially to complete yourish METAQUEST phases. The elderly mountain elf caretaker is the mistress in charge of this quest. These are the contents of a note that Elfenlarn wrote to us, from the year 1227: The search parties were the first to learn of it. There were no urgent messages for help, nor scouts observing movement, nor chitters picked up by our spying trees. After a trade caravan was three days late to arrive at Traveler's Retreat, a handful of independent rangers banded together to investigate. They said what they found, up in the peaks, was nearly indescribable. The coordination must have been perfect- thousands of trolls, troglodytes, goblins, attacking dozens of villages simultaneously; leaving no survivors; leaving no witnesses; leaving nothing but ashes after each community was razed. I think that is wrong- I think someone saw something, someone knows something. Someone was complicit, or isn't telling, or is afraid of telling the world what they saw, what led to the near-extinction of all mountain elves. You have been issued a list of suspects- find out what they know. Someone must know something. They likely will not talk, or will be afraid to- make them more afraid. Do whatever it takes, but get that information. Upon successful completion of this quest you can receive: *Up to 0 quest points, 0 practice points, 0 archon points, 0 build points, 0 piety, and 0 gold pieces. This quest [3422] is called 'Betrayed by the Drow', for Adventurers levels 241 to 241. This is a ARCHON CLASS PHASE quest. Complete all of them sequentially to complete yourish METAQUEST phases. The elderly mountain elf caretaker is the mistress in charge of this quest. These are the contents of a note that Elfenlarn wrote to us, from the year 1203: That none of those fools knew what happened to the mountain elves is so characteristic. They are not true elves- they may look like us forestkin, but they lack our knowledge, our insight, our patience. I shall not waste our time again- I have spent years compiling the list of potential leaders of the raid that killed my family as a child. I will not ask you to track down leads or to interrogate elves that would not know anything anyway. Take my list, and whittle it down until you have hard proof of who killed my family and razed my village. Start by locating a glass scepter, in Arien'dyth. I remember that vividly from ... That night. If that does not have any clues, question the local bodysnatchers. If they don't know anything... Start working your way through the list. My list is infallible, and I shall have my vengeance. Upon successful completion of this quest you can receive: *Up to 0 quest points, 0 practice points, 0 archon points, 0 build points, 0 piety, 1 alignment, and 0 gold pieces. This quest [3423] is called 'Elven Life on the Outside', for Adventurers levels 241 to 241. This is a ARCHON CLASS PHASE quest. Complete all of them sequentially to complete yourish METAQUEST phases. The elderly mountain elf caretaker is the mistress in charge of this quest. These are the contents of a note that Elfenlarn wrote to us, from the year 1331: As we emerged from the world when it was new, we blazed our own path forward. Shunning the gnomes' way of craft and mechanics, we preferred organic relationships and interactions with our fellow beings. As the dwarves became obsessed with all that shines, we stayed aboveground, and nurtured the environment. When the humans discovered their penchant for the magical arts, we had long had magical bonds with our ecosystem, our trees, our forests, the land with which we shared our lives. Yet, while our peaceful ways existed in harmony with those who we share Alyria with, when they eventually reached their potentials, they took over. The gnomes' harvesting inventions clearcut forests; the society of humans discovered and angered the sahuagin, bringing attention to our peaceful sea- elf bretheren. The dwarves' passion for mining destabilized entire tectonic ranges. Our communities broke and fled, seeking refuge wherever we could. In the trees, in the jungles, below the waves. Find the remainders of these outlying communities, and interrogate them. Someone, somewhere, must know who is responsible for the fracturing of our people. I shall not accept that I am truly the last of my kind! Upon successful completion of this quest you can receive: *Up to 0 quest points, 0 practice points, 0 archon points, 0 build points, 0 piety, 1 alignment, and 0 gold pieces. This quest [3424] is called 'Elvish Life Among the Trees', for Adventurers levels 241 to 241. This is a ARCHON CLASS PHASE quest. Complete all of them sequentially to complete yourish METAQUEST phases. The elderly mountain elf caretaker is the mistress in charge of this quest. These are the contents of a note that Elfenlarn wrote to us, from the year 1398: I have determined that the trolls that have come to infest Mandrake Wood were not, in fact, working with the drow. The fact that the trolls ambushed the wood elves' treehouses less than a week after both the sahuagin ravaged our brethren in the shallows of Irda and the drow destroyed the rebel stronghold on the western shore of the Oceanus Ingenii was truly a coincidence. This does not, of course, render them innocent, nor does it satisfy the requirement for vengeance. Track down whichever wood elves remain- I recall there are not many left in your time, but find them, interrogate them, and find the descendents of Drogmar the Butcher- and kill each and every one of them. Upon successful completion of this quest you can receive: *Up to 0 quest points, 0 practice points, 0 archon points, 0 build points, 0 piety, 1 alignment, and 0 gold pieces. Phase 9: Defeat 5/5 of a tiny forest troll [Group]. Phase 10: Defeat 5/5 of a forest troll cub [Group]. Phase 11: Destroy 5/5 of the hide of a stone troll [Fresh object required].
This quest [3425] is called 'The First Elves', for Adventurers levels 241 to 241. This is a ARCHON CLASS PHASE quest. Complete all of them sequentially to complete yourish METAQUEST phases. The elderly mountain elf caretaker is the mistress in charge of this quest. These are the contents of a note that Elfenlarn wrote to us, from the year 1356: I think I have nearly all of the information I need. Now I simply require the means to travel back far enough to do something about it. I have compiled a list of all of the elves currently known to be among the oldest in existence- in your time, many of them will have gone into hiding in plain sight- concealed as younger elves, quiet about their background, not seeking attention. The leaders of Ilan'fel may be searching for them, or maybe not. I don't care that much, because once I figure out how to throw myself back that far, all of this will be moot. I have the means and knowledge to foil the plans of the sahuagin, the drow and the trolls all at once, I just need to execute. Most of these individuals listed have changed their names only slightly in the past hundreds of years- if they ever come around and are still disguised, please let them know that I am working to restore elvenkind to its proper glory- 4 centuries in the past. Upon successful completion of this quest you can receive: *Up to 0 quest points, 0 practice points, 0 archon points, 0 build points, 0 piety, 1 alignment, and 0 gold pieces.
