Location: New Rigel
Levels: 180
Boss Kill: counts as a boss kill for level 180 and under.
Availability: normal repop (this is a no-escape no-regen zone)
Marks: none

Preparation

Standard reagent and mem check. Win the Rune lottery with a character that is level 180 or lower. Cast all buffs prior to using the ticket as there is no safe room on arrival. Be aware that the fight is in no-regen so keep in mind for casting buffs that drain sp such as combat blink. Cure blind potions when used drain 120 sp so keep that in mind! Having herbalism helps alot, make fatigue, high-explosive, cure light and refresh.

Introduction

You give a lottery ticket with a 'Draw #727, Ticket 83' scrawled on it to a friendly entrepreneur.
A friendly entrepreneur exclaims, 'Congratulations, Vivi, you have the winning ticket!'
a friendly entrepreneur shouts 'Congratulations, Vivi won the monthly lottery, worth 690000 gold!'
A small imp appears before you in a puff of smoke.
The imp tells you, 'Your bank account has been credited for the amount of 690,000.'
The imp disappears with an ear-splitting BANG!
A friendly entrepreneur gives you an admission ticket to the Preacher of Excess' Palace of Delights.
'AaaaAAaaAAaaAAnd!' a friendly entrepreneur exclaims.
A friendly entrepreneur exclaims, 'Your lottery ticket also hit the monthly lucky number combo, winning you an additional 5M in prizes!'
For joining the Winner's Circle, the Powers have granted thee a Mark.
You have gained the Mark of Exclusivity!
You gain 63 practices!
WARNING: Do NOT spam give ticket to the entrepreneur when checking your winning lottery number or else you may just give this admission ticket to him to shred!

Item 'an admission ticket to the Preacher of Excess' Palace of Delights' is type warp-stone, alignment -500, made of paper (in (new) condition),
has keywords 'warp-stone excess preachers ticket admission palace delights'.
This item weighs 0 stones and 6 pebbles, and is valued at 9,000 gp.
This level 165 item has the attributes: no-bury
This item, when USEd, will teleport the bearer to The Antechamber Of Excess in The Towne of New Rigel.
There is 1 charge remaining bound within an admission ticket to the Preacher of Excess' Palace of Delights.
*Your level must be less than or equal to 180 to use this item.
They say that the preachers' only excess is being too delightful.

This will NOT take your formation with you. Using the ticket will consume and teleport you to a room below the central room in the New Rigel casino. Obviously don't go up and waste your ticket! There is a one-way exit east so get ready as the next area is no-regen.

It is unknown if the cap embroidered High Roller from winning the casino tournament in New Rigel has any relation to this run. I have tried wearing it going in, fighting the boss, pulling the slots, giving it to the boss, does not seem to do anything out of the ordinary.

Encounter

You are now in a 2x2 area that is all no-regen. In each room is a slot machine that can only be pulled if the Preacher of Excess is in the same room.

indicating that the payment is not golden, but its user's life-force.
+++ a gambling device labeled Threefer will, when PULLed, consume 2% of
its user's max hp and roll 3 numbers at random. If the user rolls 3 of a
kind, or rolls 3 sequential numbers, they win.
example of winning:
pull three

Twenty seven golden spheres bounce down the chute and into Threefer's main hopper.

<417hp 121sp 250st>

The first golden sphere pops out of the main hopper and reveals itself- 4!

<417hp 121sp 250st>

<417hp 121sp 250st>

The third and final sphere shoots straight into the chamber, showing a prominent 5!
a gambling device labeled Threefer clangs loudly as it alerts you to its sequential spinners- and promptly shoots its shiny golden reward out of its slot...
...and straight into a preacher of excess, bowling him over.

<417hp 121sp 250st>
l preacher
Of the countless aspects of the natural world, Pan is widely revered as one
of the patron gods of fermentation, and the joys brought therewith. This
preacher loudly, and somewhat drunkenly, celebrates those gifts and more
with a booming tenor, a slosh of his goblet and the grabbed ass of anyone
within reach.
He is a satyr approximately 5'5" tall.
A preacher of excess is in good health[100%].
a preacher of excess is an NPC Boss and is more advanced than a regular NPC.

user's sp and roll a number between 1 and 100, at random. If the number
chosen was 1 or lower, the other player will be brought to the brink of
death. If the user does not win, then the number (or lower) on which they
win is increased by 1.

+++ a gambling device labeled Flips will, when PULLed, flip a coin. If the
coin is heads, it reduces its user's stamina by half. If the coin is tails,
it reduces its opponents' hp by half.

That last machine sounds great right? But only if it worked as it said:

([81%]Vivi)<1556hp 1052sp 1201st>
pull flip
A plunger in a gambling device labeled Flips depresses, impacting the coin within and causing it to land on... Heads.
A preacher of excess has several minor scratches[90-100%].
([40%]Vivi)<778hp 1052sp 1201st>

[UPDATE: Machine works. Mob is now immune to weapons. Best way to kill prob to spam the machine, and finish off with spell casts]

Read Aura

You sense the following:
A preacher of excess is immune to charm.
A preacher of excess is affected by level 275 'orbiting mass'.
A preacher of excess is affected by level 275 'damage absorption'.
A preacher of excess is affected by level 275 'fearless'.
Fight mechanics
The preacher has a chance to kick dust in your eyes blinding you, attempting to disarm you, and kicking. He will cast: shadow imp (repeatedly, even if one is already in the room with him), some spell that will generate a red wine spring in the room, a spell that will increase his vulnerability to something as well as your vulnerability to something (raise stakes). Keep hp above 600 as he has a rare chance to cast a damage spell:
A preacher of excess slams into you, tackling you to the ground and punching you until his knuckles bleed.

Given the nature of the fight, go in with items that raise your maximum vitals (yourban's soul +100hp, boots of fish +300 st, etc.). During the fight, when your vitals fall below the amount the item raises it by, swap it out if you have better gear.

My recommendation is to use slot machines as a last ditch - I'm gonna die anyway thing. Have plenty of fatigue mixtures, high explosive (keep in mind throwing costs 45 st), cure light and refresh mixtures will help. He has 1-3 attacks per round and overcasts alot from casting shadow imp and so the fight is not too bad.

Loot

Loot table not fully explored. He can spawn wielding no weapons or a blade or halberd. Seems to deal less damage whilst wielding the halberd than the blade.

Satyr hooves are awkward and unwieldy, which is probably why neither
evolution nor magical design has granted many other bipedal species hooves.
Satyrs are creatures imbued with loads of magical power, and while these
hooves grant access to that power, actually tapping into it is difficult.
+++ a pair of satyr hooves will, every minute that their wearer spends
RUNning, restore 750 of their wearer's stamina.

Item 'Pan's blade' is type weapon, alignment -0, made of steel (in (new) condition),

95%, at a cost of 500st, with a maximum frequency of once per Alyrian minute.

*Your level must be greater than or equal to 170 to use this item.
*This item may be repaired 4 times.
This halberd is no simple axe, but is a long shaft covered in curly, spiky,
sharpened bits that would be more at home on a ceremonial weapon than
something actually being used to cut someone in half.
+++ a satyr's curlicued halberd will, each combat round, damage its
wielder's opponent's mount for 100hp at a cost of 20st per combat round.
