Knave

Pros: Armor reduction skill, ability to hide your location on who, skill to instakill NPCs at 9% or less hp, increased hand to hand damage and knock down, a good complimentary class to ranger if you are unable to go bard.

Cons: No lock picking, which can be an issue doing DOA with out magic unlock, no snare/bash/tracking/evasions/disarm trap compared to rogue, no reagent free songs and debuffs like slow/soothing nocturne compared to bard.

May not be the easiest first class due to stamina and SP use on knave skills, but benefits from the 1pp/% skill training as many knave skills are very high practice cost at higher levels.

detect traps 45% TBC Reveals traps on doors or objects when you enter a room. Optional. Uses are very limited without disarm trap in tandem.
deadeye 33% TBC Shoots down physical projectiles with marksmanship. Only practice if you think you're going to be exclusively using marksmanship.
exotic 50% 75% Another weapon skill. Useful for bypassing basic damage immunities (bash/pierce/slash), especially at lower levels.
feign illness 40% TBC Makes your health level up to 30% less than its actual value when people are fighting you or looking at you. Misdirection technique used exclusively in PK. Optional low priority skill if you're into PVP.
feign death 58% TBC Disguise yourself as a corpse if you're in a CPK room with blood in it. TBC
feign presence 26% 75% Hides your location on who, instead of being Towne will just show as ????. Also a small chance to hide your location when someone checks with where. Passive +4 AGL. Extremely useful to hide your location in common watched zones such as Tower, Underg etc. Now with 900 second cooldown after 2 uses. Use wisely.
feign knowledge 18% TBC Pretend to cast a spell. I think this skill is meant to trick people into counterspelling you. Usefulness extremely limited. Not recommended for practice.
feign love 66% 75% Reduces NPC's aggression for entering combat if aggro as well as reducing damage, around -7damage at 240. Lasts 3 ticks. Useful utility spell. Rather high SP cost for the damage reduction. Use it more for aggro management.
hand to hand 1% 75% Low damage bash attack. Useful in a pinch if your weapon breaks, will continue to do some damage while disarmed, or for bash damage type. Synergizes well with raise dukes, martial arts, stacking the fistfighting stat and some scripted equipment, like white hand wraps.
hide 30% 100% Can hide your location on where and requires players to have sense life to see your hidden string in the room. TBC
hook 9% TBC TBC An alternate weapon for using with the slit skills.
lore 30% 100% Identify items when you look at them. An invaluable skill to identify items just by looking at them, you can also identify items on the ground.
magical items 5% 100% Increases success rate when using held magical items, for example octarine wands. Mostly useful in first class but can help greatly with the likes of Odious.
marksmanship 1% TBC Projectile weapon that uses ammunition and black powder worn over the shoulder similar to ranger archery. Very low damage. Ammo and powder requires careful management. Specialty ammo hard to find. Synergizes with deadeye. Optional very low priority.
peek 45% 50%+ Reveals the contents of a NPC or players inventory unless concealed or is reveal on death in the case of NPCs. Invaluable, train higher for reduced annoyance of failed peek attempts and having to relook.
perception 1% 75% The strength of your search and dig attempts. Essential.
raise stakes 67% TBC Gives your self and your opponent random vulnerabilities. Optional.
raise dukes 35% 75% * Increases hand to hand damage with a chance to knock opponents down. If you plan on fighting hand to hand, especially if you're going monk with martial arts it is essential, other wise optional.
raise hell 76% TBC Causes a riot that supposedly makes all NPCs and players in a room aggressive. When used on a player, it will cause any mobs and players in the room to aggro the victim, including yourself. Very low priority.
second attack 17% 75% An extra attack. Whats better than one attack? Two.
scan 40% 30%+ Scans room nearby. Higher skill level means you can see entities more rooms away maxing out at 7 rooms at 100%.
slit tendon 1% 75% Reduces leg armor by around -9 at 240 with 19 personality. Optional as it scales with personality and maxing personality is not usually high on the priority list early.
slit throat 10% 75% Chance to instakill an NPC at 9% HP or lower, doesn't really work on PC's as well an NPCs Can save alot of time when fighting bosses with lots of HP.
slit purse 30% 75% Cause the opponent lag based on the amount of gold they are currently carrying. Only useful in PK, optional.
slit armor 22% 75% Reduces armor on the opponent by applying a -armor debuff to head, hands, about body (cloak) and feet armor slots. -10ar at 240. Mostly only useful in PK as most NPC's do not wear the appropriate armor slots to debuff.
strike at the heart 33% TBC Bash damage skill that does double damage to a form leader or to members in a form of a larger size. Too much lag incurred with this skill to be useful. You will suffer an attack/defense penalty even if its perfectly timed. Not recommended.
strike down 43% TBC A mid damage bludgeoning skill slightly weaker than bash. Has a 20% base chance to knock down enemies, chance increases when wielding a maul. Too much lag incurred with this skill to be useful. You will suffer an attack/defense penalty even if its perfectly timed. Not recommended.
strike of pain 1% TBC Low damage bash skill slightly more powerful than kick. Optional low priority.
strike a match 34% TBC Deals fire damage using light sources as ammunition. Better quality light sources increases damage. Fire based attack skill. Can get better mileage out of spells that deal flames damage. Carrying a supply of light sources can be annoying. Optional very low priority.
strike of death 90% 75% Marks the target leaving them only able to flee 6-7 times before becoming stunned and reduced to 1/1/1 hp/sp/st. Useful PK skill but leaves the user heavily 'lagged' for a few seconds after marking your opponent.
strike blow 1% 75% Low damage bash skill roughly as powerful as kick. Hits a lot quicker than kick though. Can be used twice between rounds without incurring attack/defense penalty. Useful damage skill when wielding two-handed weapons if you're not a minotaur.
throwing 1% 75% The ability to throw herbal mixes or bombs. Optional unless you are going to have herbalism later on or want to throw bombs, such as flash and smoke bombs.
